Application Analysis

Flexifloat offers a comprehensive project analysis service to assist potential users in the economic evaluation and proper application of Flexifloat® equipment.

All components of the sectional barge system are portable and made for efficient road transport by conventional tractor/trailers. Flexifloats® can be quickly connected into larger assemblies of various sizes and shapes by construction crews without the need for specialized tooling or equipment. The resulting platforms are capable of supporting heavy equipment loads in areas that are practically or economically inaccessible to conventional deck barges.

Assembly Design

Flexifloat® modules are available in various standard widths, lengths and depths to cover overlapping ranges of buoyancy requirements.
The integral, high-tensile connector system allows modules to be connected end-to-end, side-to-side, or end-to-side, permitting the assembly of platforms of virtually any size and shape. To insure proper application of the equipment, each Flexifloat® assembly is uniquely designed and configured by our application engineers to provide the minimum possible draft while maintaining adequate buoyancy and absolute structural integrity under all anticipated environmental and operational load conditions.

Computer analyses and simulations are extensively utilized to verify buoyant capacity, hull stress and static stability for each installation. Whenever possible, assembly designs are enhanced by utilizing “T”, “U”, “H” or other optimally-shaped configurations that require fewer modules and exhibit better stability characteristics than larger, rectangular assemblies.

On-Site Engineering Support

Although Flexifloat® equipment requires no special training for assembly and installation, Flexifloat application engineers are available upon customer request to provide on-site consultation and assistance.

This global service option is offered at no charge to first-time users, and is also extended without charge to all customers having special configuration needs, extreme application demands, or extraordinary job requirements.

Flexifloat field engineers are highly skilled, trained professionals. They are experts in the design, assembly and proper application of Flexifloat® equipment. Additionally, they bring Flexifloat’s 65 years of experience in marine operations to the customer’s jobsite. They are extremely knowledgeable in marine rigging procedures and construction methods and are familiar with the various types of heavy equipment used throughout the industry.
