SEMA Construction utilize S70 & S50 Flexifloats in Bradenton, FL.

Bradenton, FL
SEMA Construction utilize S70 and S50 Flexifloats for the construction of the 44th Avenue East Extension project.  The project, which includes a bridge crossing the county’s water storage lake, connects Bradenton, FL with Lakewood Ranch.  This segment includes four lanes, plus bike lanes.

S70 Flexifloats were used to support a Manitowoc 999 and 12000 model crawler cranes.  Supported on a large U-shaped assembly, the Manitowoc 999 crawler crane drove concrete piles in the lake south of the Manatee County Wastewater Plant.  The U-shaped configuration facilitated the storage of the drilling and pile driving equipment on the deck during the operation.  SEMA Construction also utilized two 40’ x 120’ x 7’ Flexifloat configurations for transporting the concrete piles and other material out to the 999.  The Manitowoc 12000 crawler crane was supported on a 60’ x 80’ x 7’ assembly to assist in constructing the pier caps.  A 40’ x 100’ x 5’ S50 Flexifloat assembly supported a manlift and form work operations for the pier caps.
