Core Drilling on Minnesota Lake

Franconia Minerals used a 30′ x 85′ Series S-50 Flexifloat® assembly for their core drilling machinery while performing a soils investigation on Birch Lake in Minnesota. A skid-mounted rig was centrally located on the barge and drilled through a 5′ x 10′ moon pool configured into the barge assembly. Four 40-foot-long spuds operated by two diesel-driven double drum winches anchored the platform at multiple locations on the lake.
