Transmission tower project utilizes Flexifloats

The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) utilized multiple S-50 Flexifloat assemblies to conduct work on one of their transmission towers. Two 50’ x 140’ S-50 assemblies were requested for supporting 35-ton capacity RT cranes and miscellaneous equipment. A 30’ x 180’ S-50 assembly was used as a transport barge for bringing materials to the site. The assemblies were moored together and pushed through the Wheeler Lock on the Tennessee River prior to working at the project site.
