Improved Traction and Load Distribution
12″ thick timber crane mats are used under crawler-mounted equipment such as cranes and excavators. 6″ to 8″ laminated timber mats may also be acceptable depending on the size of the machine and operation. Along with protecting the deck, timber matting provides improved traction and helps distribute the load on the barge deck.
