Flexifloat assists in positioning girders

Relmco Inc. relies on Flexifloat to provide an S50 barge assembly for a bridge construction project near George West, Texas. Space limitations on the jobsite required a two-crane pick to handle each 80,000-lb concrete girder. The 30’ x 40’ transport barge designed to support the 47,000-lb cantilevered girder load was maneuvered 150 feet across the Nueces River. Once in position, truck cranes on each riverbank lifted the girders for placement onto the pier caps.
