Keeping Machinery Secure
Safety regulations often require contractors to secure equipment to the Flexifloat decks. The tube turns located along the edge of the Flexifloats are rated for 5-tons each and can often be utilized for tying down machinery with chains or wire rope. Contractors can also weld doubler plates and padeyes to the Flexifloat deck where anchor points are required. Any welding to rental equipment should be removed and ground back down to the original surface before return. The 25-ton lift shackle located at the center of the deck may also be used as a tie-down location as long as the shackle is not side loaded. Always refer to the manufacturer’s guidelines regarding securing their machinery with appropriately sized chains, straps, etc.
